Starting April 21, 2015 Google will introduce a new algorithm that will effect your search engine rankings if your website is not mobile friendly.

Here is a quote from the Google Webmaster Blog:

“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”

If you would like to test your website you can use the Google  mobile-friendly test

Just enter your website url and hit submit, if your website is mobile friendly the results will look like this:

mobile-results

So what does this mean?

If your website is not mobile friendly then your search engine rankings will suffer and your position for search results will drop. That means less website visitors!
