The options are endless these days with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and so many more to count. Don’t forget blogging! The social media craze is here and it is not slowing down for us to catch up. From college kids to business professionals, social media has become part of our lives. Even grandmothers use social media these days. As a business owner you can do two things, hire an in-house employee to work your social media campaign or hire a company that handles numerous accounts and is very good at social media marketing. This decision is based on how much time and money are you willing to spend on social media and how much return of investment will you receive.

What do we get from social media?

  • Show business personality
  • Inform current customers/clients of events, deals, etc.
  • Promote products or services to attract new customers
  • Gather leads and insights from current fans
  • Extend brand recognition
  • Help improve current products or services and make new products or services

  • Show our personality to friends and family
  • Share events and life’s milestones
  • Meet new people
  • See friends and family events and milestones
  • Have a sense of belonging
  • Catch up with friends and family

Social media is really very simple! Look at it as networking, it does not work if we aren’t being social. Everyone must enter into this unwritten contract saying, “Yes, I will post valuable content to share with my friends and fans and I will share others content”.  Just posting content and not having anyone share or like the content is not being social.
