HTTPS

It’s time to convert your website to SSL or loose your search engine rankings

Starting in July 2018 Google will start labeling websites that are not using HTTPS as “Not Secure” in their Chrome browser!

You can read more about this here – “A secure web is here to stay

Google has also stated that HTTPS will be used as a ranking signal in their search results:

…over the past few months we’ve been running tests taking into account whether sites use secure, encrypted connections as a signal in our search ranking algorithms. We’ve seen positive results, so we’re starting to use HTTPS as a ranking signal.

This means that if you are not using HTTPS for your website you could loose search engine rankings!

What is HTTPS?
